ifs is scalable and can, at the low end, be used in order to provide small single operator systems, or at the upper end can be used to produce multi station,
multi operator distributed systems catering to the full range of a client's COMINT needs.

ifs consists of the following sub-systems:

• Middleware (Core backbone) and Workflow
• Equipment Servers (EQS) and Service Providers
• User Interfaces

The 4th generation of the ifs architecture extends to:

• Automation of many collection and processing functions
• Extended status and processing views
• Strategic large platform systems
• Mission planning tools and communications arena analysis.
