Award winning jamming technology

In the early 1980s GEW developed an intelligent ‘look-through’ jammer with unique algorithms that had the ability to tune to targeted signals and jam it with special counter-modulated signals. The jamming transmitter would have periodic interludes to ‘look-through’ with a Siemens receiver at the targeted signal to determine if the enemy has changed frequency to avoid jamming. This technique was revolutionary for its time, as jamming was usually done by means of barrage jamming, which disrupted multiple frequencies simultaneously, including your own. GEW was awarded an Armscor award for this innovative technology.
